Käthe Wohlfahrt of America is the premier source of high-quality Christmas items handcrafted in Germany. We are currently hiring a result driven Store Manager to be responsible for the overall seasonal store management. The successful candidate will be able to enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals, and manage staff effectively. Candidates will have the most success if they have a background in retail management.

Where: The Daley Plaza in downtown Chicago (between Washington, Clark and Dearborn streets)

Employment Dates: Part-time employment starting end of September through end of October 2024; Full-time employment starting October 1st - December 27th, 2024

The Store Manager's role with Käthe Wohlfahrt is being responsible for the daily operations and overseeing the retail business, processes, and staff.

  • Recruit, hire, and train staff
  • Coach and give team feedback to create high level of customer service within the tent
  • Manage payroll and scheduling, while remaining within store payroll budget
  • Effectively manage customer service issues
  • Create an engaged team through staff meetings and contests
  • Manage receiving and inventory processes
  • Create and uphold excellent visual displays and standards
  • Ability to work and stand in a busy retail environment for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 25lbs and team lift 50lbs
  • Strong communication and computer skills
  • Prefer 3-5 years of pervious retail or supervisory experience
  • Schedule: Holidays, On Call, Weekend & Evening Availability
